Bilateral relations between the Slovak Republic and Ukraine and forecast of their development in the medium term

The aim of this text is to elaborate a forecast of the development of bilateral relations with Ukraine and a proposal for a strategy for the development of relations between the Slovak Republic and Ukraine in the medium term (10 – 15 years). The draft strategy is based on an analysis of the current approach of the Slovak government to relations with Ukraine, identification of the interests of the Slovak Republic in bilateral relations, an analysis of the medium-term outlook for the development of Ukraine in terms of its political stability and ability to continue reforms and implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU, and an outline of scenarios for the medium-term development of bilateral relations, including an assessment of the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis since 2014 on the interests and international position of the Slovak Republic.
