Veronika Oravcová

Veronika Oravcová is Research Fellow at the Slovak Foreign Policy Association and Research Assistant at the Department of Political Science at Comenius University in Bratislava. Her research interests are centred on energy transition and energy security in Central and Eastern Europe, she is a co-editor of From Economic to Energy Transition. Three Decades of Transitions in Central and Eastern Europe (Palgrave: London, 2021), several chapters on energy transition and several papers on Slovak energy policy.

Central European Energy Conference (CEEC) 2021

The aim of the 15th CEEC conference is to discuss the upcoming changes in energy sector. The consequences of Covid-19 pandemic created an opportunity to speed up necessary changes of energy sector. The conference will discuss the opportunities brought by the Recovery Facility in V4 countries and will pay special attention to emissions reduction in cities, new developments in energy storage, rail sector, and decarbonisation in industry.

With the aim of strengthening cooperation among the think tanks of the Visegrad countries in the field of energy, as well as promoting dialogue between the academic sector and decision-makers in this area, REKK (HU) as coordinator, along with SFPA (SK), the Instytut Jagielloński (PL) and AMO (CZ) as partners, have initiated the launching of the V4 Energy Think Tank Platform (V4ETTP) as a permanent think tank cooperation platform focusing on energy, operating from 2018.

The aim of this analytical output is to prepare a plan for the establishment of the Slovak-Ukrainian Cross-Border Center (SKUAC), which will offer public benefit services to regional and local public territorial administration authorities, business entities, and non-governmental organizations in the Slovak-Ukrainian border area in the fields of education, research, and professional project support in the area of territorial development and cross-border cooperation.

With the aim of strengthening cooperation among the think tanks of the Visegrad countries in the field of energy, as well as promoting dialogue between the academic sector and decision-makers in this area, REKK (HU) as coordinator, along with SFPA (SK), the Instytut Jagielloński (PL) and AMO (CZ) as partners, have initiated the launching of the V4 Energy Think Tank Platform (V4ETTP) as a permanent think tank cooperation platform focusing on energy, operating from 2018. In 2022 the Polish partnership was taken over by the Centre for Eastern Studies, OSW.
