Thinking beyond national borders for renewable energy solutions in Central Europe

Thinking beyond national borders for renewable energy solutions in Central Europe

In order to be successful in energy transition, Slovakia should build new forms of regional cooperation, while also enhancing climate policies, especially the deployment of renewables and energy efficiency measures. But the issue of higher deployment of renewables has been especially problematic for the country, reflected for example in the low commitment of Slovakia in terms of renewables share by 2030. The potential of regional cooperation was explored in the field of renewable energy. This is also an opportunity for Slovakia to explore common grounds for new relations in the region where earnest and sensible cooperation is missing by focusing also on possible ways of cooperation at the regional level.
